Camellia Japonica x Franklinia alatamaha cross from Dr. Ackerman
I'm just posting a photograph to monitor the progress of the bud. Like many C. japonica cultivars and the species itself, the bud is swelling as the days lengthen. It's showing pink petal edges. I can't wait.

Sounds intriguing. How tall do you think this will get? Do you think it will be available commercially in the near future?
Don't know. It looks much like a C.japonica; of course they're typically large and Franklinia... As to release, we haven't even grown it in the ground so it'll be a while. We do have some small rooted cutting though so we'll get it out.
