Spring Planting Season at the US National Arboretum

George Waters, Dogwood ASRT,  dug trees from our nursery bed and planted them out in the Dogwood Collection last week. Some had good-sized root balls. Joe Menes is helping by moving one of the larger plants with the New Holland skid steerer. The window for this work is small; we've got to go after the ground thaws, between the heavy rains when the soil is dry enough to plant, and before bud break. George used every bit of that window this year!
