Chimonanthus praecox with the Anacostia River in the background
The fragrance from this large planting reaches almost to the parking lot which is 200 feet ? away.
It's in the Asian Collections, US National Arboretum, Washington DC, on the path that starts at Hickey Hill Road across from the Weeping Katsura. Walk down the trail and either take the steps to the right and continue straight, or take the fork to the left, stay right, and continue. It's one big loop with the Chimonanthus in the middle.

I can't believe I've never smelled Wintersweet!?! I love Hamamelis mollis...is it similar?
Where is this located?
