George noticed this emerald green beetle on a path in the Asian Collections and herded it towards me so I could photograph it
It seems to me I usually see these beetles later in the year, often in the heat of summer....and normally they fly away if you get within 10 feet of them.

I just saw this beetle this weekend at my home in upstate NY. It was on the small stones which line the path of my labyrinth. I had never seen it before - but this is the first Spring that I've had a labyrinth...
