Karen takes short course in gator wrestling
We were in Florida for a week. There's at least one place in the country where it's raining regularly. Oops, I probably shouldn't have said that. The garden was in good shape. Every visit there are fewer weeds in the beds and the plants are larger.
The alligator in the top picture was handled in a supervised professional situation.. The bottom picture shows a slightly larger gator surveiling Karen as she weeds under the palm trees on the pond side of the house.

It's easier to know you had something when it goes away
First I stopped taking pictures, now I don't even carry a camera......
For as long as I can remember, the world has been filled with wonder and beauty. Sunrises, the night sky, sunsets, dewdrops, flowers, leaves, the curve of a vine or a shoulder, butterflies, birds, rocks, snow, ice, and all the patterns; they were all amazing and wondrous. They were excuses to stop and look and wonder, to muse and do research and find connections and learn.....Well, something has changed and the magic is gone. What happened? I don't know. Nothing seems different but there's just no magic anymore. . I hope it isn't a symptom of aging. I can take the random memory losses and the gradually decreasing physical abilities, but if the world isn't magical, what's the point?
